Self-harm and non-suicidal self-injury is a growing problem among our youth who are using it as an extreme way to cope with distressing or painful feelings. What are some of the reasons that might lead young people to engage in this behaviour, and how can we best support a young person towards recovery?
Generation Next provides education and information about the prevention and management of mental illness in youth to professionals, young people and the wider community. Our objective is to raise community awareness of mental illness through increasing mental health literacy, reducing associated sigma and positively influencing individual and community behaviour to improve the mental health of young people.
